Home Nursing Classes.
The Nursing Division of the St John Ambulance Association will start a series of home nursing classes in the Lecture Room, Municipal Building, on Thursday, October 22, at 7.15 p.m. All those intending to take the course are invited to attend on that night. Comforts for the Forces. .
To keep equipped every member of our fighting forces with knitted woollen comforts has necessitated the issue through the patriotic committees of knitting wool in still greater quantities. It is recognised that with the long winter months past, most housewives, particularly in country districts, have their seasonal domestic tasks to perform that absorb more of their evenings. The Women’s Patriotic Committee appeals to all knitters for patriotic purposes not to slacken their efforts but rather to do more, as it is only by more being done that the knitting wool now coming forward in large quantities to patriotic committees can be converted to knitted comforts. Local supplies of knitting wool for scarves, balaclavas, mittens and pullovers may be obtained from Mrs Nissen at the Masterton Women’s Patriotic Committee Rooms, Rest Room Building, Dixon Street.
