YOUNG SOLDIERS
NEEDED TO RAISE QUALITY OF ARMY DRAFT CALL IN UNITED STATES. SENATE COMMITTEE’S REPORT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.0 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 19. “If America is to survive, if it is to continue to be the heme of democracy and liberty, the induction of men aged 18 to 19 cannot longer be delayed,” says a Senate Military Committee report urging speedy approval of the Bill to that effect. The committee said it was particularly impressed by the strong testimony of military leaders that the Army, if it were to be victorious, must utilise the special military qualifications of the 18 to 19 group, which was particularly .fitted for military training and combat. “Their response to leadership is quick,” the report' states. “Their recovery from fatigue, their aggressiveness, their enthusiasm, their flair for soldiering far exceed such qualities in other age groups.”
