VALUABLE WAR CARGOES. CARRIED BY AMERICAN PLANES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, October 18. Army and Navy planes ferrying personnel and material to the United Nations’ fighting fronts are now bringing back strategic materials on their return trips, including platinum from the Persian Gulf, tungsten and silk from China, crude rubber from Brazil, and diamonds and mica from South Africa, according to the Office of War Information.
