HOUSE OF BRAGANZA
MARRIAGE UNITES RIVAL BRANCHES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, October 16. Two branches of the royal house of Braganza, which had quarrelled since 1831 over the succession to the throne of Portugal, were united today, when Princess Maria- Francisca de Orleans Braganza was married to Prince Nuno Duarte, Duke of Braganza. The bride, who is twenty-eight, wore a gown of silver lame and a long, rich lace'train centuries old.
The President, Dr Vargas, and the Foreign Minister. Senor Aranha, attended the bridal couple.
