ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
MEETING OF COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the Council of the Saint Andrew Society was held last night, the Chief, Mr H. MacKenzie Douglas, presiding over a good attendance of members.
It was decided that the next gathering be held on October 31, “Halloween” night, the early part of which will be devoted to the juveniles. An enthusiastic band of willing young workers under Miss Pat Ramsay, is arranging new and novel ways of entertaining the children from 7.30 to 8.30 o’clock. From 8.30 till midnight there will be the usual programme of Scots and old time dances.
The council has had to. abandon the holding of the annual Saint Andrew’s night concert this year, owing to the fact • that the Opera House is not available, together with the inability to obtain the services of suitable artists. Instead, it has been decided to hold a long night dance open to the public, on Saint Andrew’s night, November 30.
