COUNTY AFFAIRS

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNCIL CASE OF SPINAL MENINGITIS REPORTED. I ALLEGED IMPURE MILK CASES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council was held this morning. There were present: Crs. F. Court (chairman), M. J. McGregor, Jas. K. Strang, A. E. Reid, E. W. Allen, L. S. Gallon, A? McGregor, and the County Clerk, Mr E. T. Beaven. The treasurer reported a cr. balance of £10.158 9s sd.

Cr. C. A. Cameron was granted leave of absence until the end of this year, owing to sickness. The building and sanitary inspector reported that a case of spinal meningitis had occurred since the last meeting, but no infection had been occasioned. Five cases were pending against farmers for having allegedly supplied milk deficient in fat content for consumption in military camps. These cases would be heard before the magistrate at the next sitting of the S.M. Court in Carterton.
