POLICE FIRE ON MOB

When a mob attacked a British police officer and native sub-inspector making an arrest at Saran, in the Bihar-Orissa Province, the police opened fire, killing one of the mob. Sunitra Sen, a grand-daughter of the late Rabindranath Tagore, the Indian poet, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and fined under the Defence Regulations.
