RECENT MEETING IN MASTERTON.

WORK OF LADIES’ COMMITTEE

APPRECIATED.

At a meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Coursing Club held last evening ,a report of the recent grey" hound racing meeting at Rugby Park was presented. Members expressed their appreciation of the splendid work of the ladies’ committee in providing afternoon tea and of the excellent way in which the events had been.*conducted, every race being run to time and without any breakdowns. It was decided to hold the next meeting at Rugby Park on November 1 for which the prize money will show an increase on that of the recent gathering. A challenge trophy for open class dogs will also be competed foi. It was decided to hold trial runs next Wednesday, thus giving dogs which will compete at Dannevirke at the Laboui’ weekend an opportunity to obtain form.
