WESTERN DESERT
SERVICING OF N.Z .TROOPS.
Praise for the activities of the Y.M.C.A. and Church Army workers in the Western Desert as the representative of the National Patriotic Fund Board is given by Lieutenant-Colonel F. Waite in one of his latest reports to the board. A full report on the service, stated Colonel Waite, had not at time of writing been compiled, but it was generally agreed that conspicuous service had been rendered under very difficult conditions. More than one vehicle bore the marks of battle, said Colonel Waite, the Maori canteen having several holes in it.
