PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.} Messrs Powell and McKenzie were the guests of Mr and Mrs Hobbs over the weekend. Miss Hayward, Wellington, has been visiting her grandfather, Mr George Hayward, Lake Ferry. Mr R. Taylor, Hastings, was a visitor to Pirinoa over the weekend. Mr and Mrs Hawkins have returned from Martinborough where they have been residing for the past two months. Mrs McKenzie is visiting relatives in Martinborough. The death occurred in Wellington recently of Mr R. K. Prince, who was the elder brother of Mi’ E. Prince, Lake Ferry, and formerly of Greytown. Lieutenant Tikao Barrett, who was decorated recently for gallantry in the Libyan campaign, is a nephew of Mr Duncan Tikao, Pirinoa. Mr George Ahipene has been accepted for the Air Force and will leave for a training centre on Friday. Memorial Hall. The Memorial Hall is receiving at the present time a much-needed coat of paint. Tennis Club. The members of the Tennis Club have started play for the season. Whitebait and Flounders. Whitebait and flounders are being caught in fairly large quantities at the Lake Ferry. It is estimated that one cwt. of whitebait was netted in one day last week. The weather conditions have been most favourable for whitebait fishing. ______ '
