HEALTH CAMPS FOR CHILDREN
great many people here and elsewhere iii the Dominion are accustomed to show in practical fashion, year by year, their appreciation of the splendid work that is being done in the Health Camps established for the benefit of young New Zealanders who, for one reason or another, are below the standard of physical wellbeing that ought to be, in a favoured land like this, all but universal. Last week a very good beginning was made on the annual sale of Health Stamps, part of the proceeds of which goes to finance the children’s camps, and there is every indication that this admirable enterprise will again be supported generously. The practice of buying Health Stamps, cannot, however, spread too widely and no doubt it will spread apace as more and more people become aware of the lasting benefits conferred on the children who spend happy days in the Health Camps, under skilled and helpful care. As time goes on these camps no doubt will become part of a much greater and more elaborate organisation directed to establishing and maintaining the highest attainable standards of health throughout the community. Meantime the camps are doing work of the utmost value to children who have every possible claim to consideration and to that vital extent are helping to solve a problem of great moment'to New Zealand. Few indeed are so poor that they cannot afford to contribute their mite in this good cause.
