AMBULANCE DANCE

MASONIC HALL CROWDED.

MOST SUCCESSFUL GATHERING.

The Masonic Hall was filled to capacity on Saturday night, when the St. John Ambulance Brigade held one of its most successful dances of the year. The committee wishes to apologise to all patrons who were unsuccessful in gaining admittance, as it was necessary to close the doors at about 9 p.m,, asj the hall was then full. The music supplied by Jack Barnes and his Rhythm Boys was much appreciated by the large number of dancers present, and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr C. S. McQuade, Cadet Superintendent. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss Peggy Cruickshank and Mr J. Cruickshank, and a lucky spot foxtrot was won by Miss M. Gaskin and Leading Aircraftman Burke. Much applauded extras were played by Miss L. Hopkins and Mr W. Raniera. Mr McQuade thanked patrons for their continued support, also all who had kindly volunteered to assist in serving supper to such a large number. He particularly thanked the ladies’ committee for' the splendid supper which it had served, much of which had been home cooked, owing, to pre-sent-time difficulties of catering. The next regular dance will be held on November 21, not on November 8 as was announced on Saturday night.
