OVER WAR EMPLOYMENT OF WOMEN threat of double dissolution SENATE MAY GIVE WAY. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) CANBERRA, September 28. A double dissolution of the Australian Parliament (that is, both House of Representatives and the Senate) is threatened by Mr Curtins Labour Government if the Senate refuses to agree to a Bill to encourage and regulate the employment of women in war industries. This was revealed by the renewed gazetting of regulations covering the operations of the Women s Employment Board which was abolished last week when the Senate disallowed the regulations under which it was conShould Senate again decline to agree to the regulations the GovernorGeneral may dissolve the Senate and the House of Representatives simultaneously. , , „„„ However, political observers say there is feeling among Opposition members of both Houses against xorcinS an election at this juncture It is probable that the Senate wil climb down from its present, attitude and pass the Bill in order to early election which would be we corned by the Labour Party.
