BLITZED AGAIN
TOBRUK AND BENGHAZI DIRECT HITS WITH HEAVY BOMBS. SOUTH AFRICANS RAID AIRFIELDS. LONDON, September 28. Tobruk ami Benghazi were again blitzed by heavy and medium bombers of lhe R.A.F. last night,. At Tobruk anti-aircraft- gnus and searchlights, besides other objectives. were hit. At Benghazi heavy bombers scored direct hits on Ihe outer mole. The South African Air Force continued its raids on enemy landing grounds.
Attacks against enemy shipping will perhaps present a decisive aspect of this phase of the Egyptian campaign, says the Cairo correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph.” Since June 1 we have sunk 40 cargo vessels, representing 60.000 tons and damaged a further 80,000 tons. We have sunk six escorts and damaged at least 12.

A Cairo communique states: "Our patrol activity continued on Saturday night| Yesterday there was nothing to report from our land forces. "Air activity in the battle area has been on a reduced scale, but enemy transport and ammunition lorries were successfully attacked on the GambutBardia Toad.
"An enemy raider was brought down near Amiriya on Saturday night, while last night a Heinkel was shdt down in the Suez Canal area. During these operations we lost one aircraft.”
