ESPERANTO

MASTERTON CLUB MEETING

There was an excellent attendance of members at the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club, held last evening. Mr N. Lamont presided. After the transaction of formal business, some time was devoted to the study of syntax and English idioms, special attention being paid to verb peculiarities. . . Mr Lamont presented an original article in Esperanto entitled “La Novzelanda Farmindustrio dum la Estonteco” (“The New Zealand Farming Industry of the Vuture”), and Mr W. J. Beresford contributed a further article, also written originally in the international language, and entitled “Maraj Pensoj” (“Marine Thoughts”)). A conversational period, the concluding session of the meeting, comprised reading, translation, questions, and a general discussion covering a wide range of subjects.
