Andre Istel, financial adviser, to the Fighting French, after his arrival at New York aboard a trans-Atlantic plane, declared that adherence to the de Gaulle movement is rapidly increasing within France itself. While he was in London to confer on financial and economic matters with General de Gaulle, M. Istel said, the French leader told him the situation in the Fighting French colonies “is most satisfactory.”
