COLLEGE DANCE
ASSEMBLY HALL AGAIN CROWDED. CONCLUSION OF SEASON. The Wairarapa College Parents’ Association held their final dance of the season in the Assembly Hall on Saturday night. There was an attendance of 450, including a large number of men from all branches of the forces. The music was supplied by Mrs Ashton’s Orchestra, and extras were played by Miss Hawke. The duties of M.C. were- carried out by Mr V. Ashton. A lucky spot competition was won by Miss Free and Private Hosking. An excellent supper was supplied by the ladies’ committee of the Parents’ Association. Mr A. Owen Jones, president of the Association, thanked all who had supported the dances during the season, and made special mention of the splendid behaviour of the men of the forces. Hundreds of them, said Mr Jones, had attended the dances throughout the year, and their conduct was exemplary. Mr Jones also paid a tribute to Mrs Ashton’s orchestra, which had maintained a high standard of music throughout. The association also desired to thank all who had so kindly assisted the committee in handing round supper during the year. \
