LOST JARVIS

NO TRACE OF DESTROYER OR PERSONNEL. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, Noon.) RUGBY, September 24. The United States Navy Department states that the destroyer Jarvis disappeared while en route from the Tulagi area to a southern repair base. She has been overdue for several weeks and an intensive search by ships and aircraft has failed to locate her or to reveal any trace of her personnel.

The auxiliary transport Little, was sunk by enemy action in recent operations in the Solomon Islands area.
