JAPANESE CLAIMS
AMERICAN CRUISER DAMAGED.
TWO SUBMARINES SUNK
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, September 23. The Tokio official radio states that Imperial Headquarters has claimed that a United States cruiser of the Northampton type was seriously damaged by a submarine in the Aleutians on August 30. It is added that two American submarines were sunk by Japanese destroyers in the middle of September. > _______
