LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST MAINLY FAIR. FROSTS IN SHELTERED POSITIONS. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:--DISTRICT FORECAST: Strong winds from a westerly quarter. Showers in the Tararuas, but weather otherwise mainly fair. Temperatures cold, with frosts in sheltered positions. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Mainly fair, LOCAL REPORT. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.G2. Shade temperature: Maximum 61, minimum 45.8, terrestrial 40.9. Rain, 64 points. ■Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 58 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
