DEATH OF MR H. E. BENNETT. CHILDHOOD FRIEND OF LILY LANGTRY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The death occurred at Otaki yesterday of Mr Henry Edward Bennett, aged 102 years. He was a baker and confectioner, and could recollect playing, as a schoolboy, with Lily Langtry, the actress, who was brought up in the same village in Jersey. Mir Bennett’s wife died 56 years ago and his only son died of fever during the South African War. The rest of the family are four daughters, who survive. There are 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grand-children and five great-great-grand-children.
