STATE THEATRE

“TOM SAWYER.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by one of the great classics of the screen, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” the late Mark Twain’s masterpiece of fiction. It is a picture which will appeal to every man, woman and child because of the heart throbs contained in it. It is a simple story of the frolics, fun and trials of youth, and is acted in a most realistic manner by some of the best known artists engaged in pictures today. There is not a dull moment during the whole of the screening and there is plenty of the type of comedy that appeals to picture patrons. The programme is one which can be confidently recommended to picturegoers. The leading roles in the main picture are taken by May Robson, Ann Gillis and Walter Brennan.
