TIRAUMEA
ENJOYABLE PARTY SOLDIER HONOURED. (‘■Times-Age’’ Special.) At a most enjoyable party held in the local hall. Sergeant D. Curtis was the guest of honour. Visitors were present from Pongaroa. Eketahuna. Rakaunui and the surrounding districts. The music for dancing was supplied by Mesdames G. Houlbrookc, Welsh, Dowering and Liverion and Messrs Harman and Barker. Mr Barker was a capable M.C. Miss Elsa Hansen gave two humorous recitations and Misses Hansen and jewitt presented a humorous sketch, both items being greatly appreciated. During the supper interval Mr. S. Raleigh, president of the Patriotic Committee, presented Sgt. Curtis with a cheque on behalf of the residents of the district and wished him the very best of luck. Sgt. Curtis suitably returned thanks. Dancing was kept up till the early hours of the morning. Personal Items. Mrs Malcolm Robbie has recovered sufficiently from her recent accident to be able to return home from the hospital. Mrs E. Jewitt has returned from a holiday spent in Feilding. Mrs Olsen is on a visit to Palmerston North and Levin.
