RED PASSES

FOR DISCOURAGED NAZIS.

INVITATION TO RUSSIAN LINES. MOSCOW, July 7. The latest Moscow propaganda device is the distribution of “passes” .to Nazi troops who may be contemplating surrender to the Russians in the future. The passes, which arc distributed over the German lines with other handbills of Russian propaganda, state that they will admit the bearer through the Russian lines, presupposing that the Nazi soldier may some time in the future find himself in a position where he might want to surrender. The recent United States-Russian lend-lease agreement also figures prominently in “anti-morale” leaflets with which the Red Army is bombing the German enemy. The Tass Agency said that specialplywood bombs had been developed to scatter lots of 25,000 handbills over the German lines. Many of the leaflets, “exposing the Hitler bandit gang” have been found on killed or wounded Germans, it was said.

The Red Army also uses kites to fly leaflets-over the lines, displaying enormous front line posters bearing antiHitler cartoons and employs loud speakers to relay the words of German soldiers taken prisoners.
