Large units of German and Italian labour corps are rushing forward tne construction of coastal defences m south-western Yugoslavia, . Aloania, and north-western Greece, reports the “New York Times” Ankara corresponGent Italian troops, who were withdrawn from Croatia are being moved into fresh defensive positions along the Dalmatian coast as far south as maritime Albanit and below the Strait ot Otranto. The Italians are laying new minefields on the Dalmatian and Albanian coasts, and likewise have heavily increased the aerial, surface, and C °Neutral military circles at Istanbul exnress the opinion that the activity is partly the result of Rear-Admiral Vian’s audacious bombardment of Rhodes in August.
