VON KLEIST’S FATE
SAID TO HAVE BEEN SHOT 1 BY SNIPER. WHILE STANDING ON TANK HATCH. LONDON, September 20. The Moscow correspondent of the “Daily Express” says that General Von Kleist crossed the Terek River to inspect defence works. He was standing in a tank hatch when he was shot through the head by a Soviet sniper. It was the best shot of the war. A German communique has denied the death of General von Kleist.
