APPEAL TO KNITTERS

MORE COMFORTS REQUIRED FOR TROOPS. WOOL QUOTA INCREASED. A call is made for more knitting for the men in the forces, as a greater number of comforts are required. On account of the woollen comforts required by service men in New Zealand it has been found necessary to increase the amount of wool available by 25 per cent, making the monthly quota for Wellington Province 16551b5. Further supplies of knitting wool have been received by Mr G. T. O'Hara Smith, local zone secretary of the Patriotic Society, for distribution throughout the Wairarapa. All knitters for patriotic purposes are asked to respond to the appeal for an increased number of comforts to meet the needs of the men in the forces.
