SPITFIRES ATTACKING ENEMY E-BOATS OFF THE DUTCH COAST —An artist’s impression of an R.A.F. surprise attack on German E-boats by Spitfire pilots who each selected an enemy vessel as he zoomed overhead. In a final attack they left one E-boat on fire and sinking. The E-boats tried last-minute evasive tactics and put up a fierce light gun resistance, but this went wide of the attacking Spitfires.
