The Pope received President Roosevelt’s personal representative, Mr Myron Taylor, at a private audience in which the Jewish question in France is reported to have been discussed, says the Berne correspondent of the “New York Times.” Neutral circles in Rome express the opinion that the Vatican is initiating important action to. assist oppressed religious minorities in occupied countries, and that Mr Taylor came to Rome at the Pope’s invitation.
