CARTERTON SALE. PRICES GOOD THROUGHOUT. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton /sale yesterday:—A small yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were good throughout and practically a total clearance was effected. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Prime hoggets, 27s 7d to 295; fat hoggets, tp 235; ewe hoggets, to 21s 9d; medium wr. hoggets, to 18s. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop. £9, £9 10s. £9 15s, £lO to £lO ss; springing heifers, £5 to £7 10s; Jersey cows on drop, to £8; springing cows, £5 to £6; fat cows, £5, £5 10s to £6; forward cows £4, £4 6s to £4 16s; store cows, £2 7s 6d, £3 6s, £3 10s to £3 12s 6d; cull cows, 22s 6d, 26s to 355; cows and calves, £2 10s, £4 to £4 10s; empty 2-yr. Ayrshire heifers, to £5 17s 6d; empty Jersey heifers, to £3 2r. 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, to £3 10s. PigsBaconers, £3 7s 6d to £3 14s; porkers, £2 10s, £2 14s to £2 18s; light porkers, to £2, 7s; store pigs, £2 2s to £2 3s; slips, to 38s; Weaners, good, 33s to 38s; weaners, medium 27s to 325; weaners. small. 20s to 265; weaners, very small. 13s to 18s.
