The German assault on Stalinh grad is being pressed with very great fury and the latest Russian ' reports suggest that the battle is nearing its climax. The Germans, in the afternoon, claimed that they had captured the main Stalingrad Railway Station, but there is no confirmation of this claim. The “Red Star' 1 says the Germans are bombing Staiingrad, square after
square. According to the British United Press, the German air blows against the sionth-west sector of the city are described in Moscow as, the greatest air raids of the war. _ The Germans are plastering the Russians, section _after section, and nlso arc smashing against the Volga crossings and other communications to the rear.
