LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO FINE. WITH MILDER TEMPERATURES. Weather fair to fine and mild. _ FURTHER OUTLOOK: Some scattered rain in the Tararuas; otherwise fair. LOCAL REPORT. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. yesterday: —Barograph, 29.90. Shade temperature: Maximum 55.2, minimum 38.1, terrestrial 27.9. Rain, 9 points. Frost, 2.5 degrees. Mr Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m .today: —Barograph, 30.10. Shade temperature: Maximum 50.9, minimum 29.4, terrestrial 21.6. Rain, 4 points. Frost, 8.8 degrees. Mi’ H. M. Boddington reports that 13 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and 3 points for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON, SEPTEMBER. First quarter, September 18. Full moon, September 25. Draw ycur blinds at 6.15 p.m. today; raise them at 5.54 a.m. tomorrow.
