DOUBLE PROGRAMME. [ “You’re the One” and “Sealed Lips will be shown for the last time tonight. “THE DOCTOR AND THE DEBUTANTE.” Featuring Lew Ayres, Lionel Barrymore, Robert Stirling and Jean Rogers the first screening of “The Doctor and the Debutante” will be given at the Regent Theatre tomorrow night. ‘The Doctor and the Debutante” is number nine in the popular Kildare series, and celebrates two auspicious events. It is the first of the medical dramas to be directed by Major W. S. Van Dyke 11, who piloted the “Thin Man ’pictures to great popularity, ' and it marks Lionel Barrymore’s twenty-sixth anniversary as a motion picture actor. It is Barrymore who created the original role of Dr. Gillespie in the first of the Kildare series, and he has played it ever since. Dramatic highlights _ include an accident in which a xught club sign falls on Ann Ayars, resulting in an operation by Dr. Kildare to save her life. The romance between bterling and Miss Rogers is told in a series of heart-interest episodes, and is a pivotal point in the plot. Action is laid principally in the hospital, and in a great modern operating room with amphitheatre for students who watch and hear a gripping lecture by Barrymore during an operation.
