MR. WILLKIE GIVES FIGURES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, September 9. Mr Wendell Willkie said at a Press conference at Ankara that in August the Axis sank 500,000 tons of United Nations shipping, while America alone produced 600,000 tons of new shipping. By January America would be producing 1,000.000 tons a month. He added that in August American plane production was 5000 machines. In a year’s time it would be at the rate of 10,000 a month.
