The Chinese are hurrying to restore the air bases in the "bomb-Tokio” provinces. Work has begun on the two important airfields which have been recaptured at Chursien and Lishui in Chekiang, and the Chinese have now advanced to a third base at Kinwha. capital of the province. A. Reuter report from Chungking says that the Japanese appear to be falling back to the positions they held when they began their drive against General Chiang Kai-shek's troops from lhe coast.
