Brigade Band.
The Brigade Band will play a programme of music at the Solway Showgrounds on Sunday from 2.30 p.m. till 3.30 p.m. Day of Prayer. As there was no suitable place available at present in Masterton, stated the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, yesterday, the observance of the day of prayer in Masterton on Thursday next, would be left to the respective churches. Industrial Disputes. The number of industrial disputes occurring in the first six months of 1942. as published in the Abstract of Statistics, was 47, compared with 36 in the same period in 1941. The disputes in 1942 involved 10,641 workers, and 29,832 hours were lost, compared with 8,975 workers and 19/876 hours in 1941.
