REGENT THEATRE
“MR DISTRICT ATTORNEY.” “Mr District Attorney” and “Stick to Your Guns,” will be finally shown tonight. “PARIS CALLING.” 'Ah f intensely stimulating film. “Paris Calling,” will be shown tomorrow night. The stimulation comes from me supreme faith and courage of those serving the Allied cause in Nazi-occu-ipied France, of those who have lost I all, but who continue their underground work in constant danger of arrest and death. The story runs from the horror of the evacuation of Paris before the entry of the Germans to the establishment of a secret radio station which sends vital information to Britain, and on to a grand climax. The acting, settings, and atmosphere are excellent, but the film may be regarded as a personal triumph for Elizabeth Bergner, who reaches new heights of dramatic ability. Basil Rathbone, with a very Laval-like role, is justly rewarded for his treachery, and Randolph Scott is sound as the stranded British flyer.
