FATAL ACCIDENT

ELDERLY CYCLIST KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTING, August 27. The intersection of Herctaunga and Charles streets. Hastings, was the scene of a fatal accident at about 8.30 o'clock this morning, as the result of which Mr Arlliur Robert Frederick Allen. aged 82. Gallien Street, Hastings, lost his life. Mr Allen was cycling along Herc-taunga Street and a motorcar was being driven in the onposite direction. At the Charles Street intersection the car turned into Charles Street and a collision occurred, the cyclist being thrown heavily. He was picked up unconscious, suffering from severe head injuries and died soon after admission to the Hastings Memorial Hospital
