MUTUAL SUPPORT
NAVAL & AIR FORCES IN COOPERATION NEW ORGANISATION BEING BUILT UP. DISCLOSURE BY ADMIRAL HARWOOD. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) RUGBY, August 27. Admiral Harwood in an interview disclosed that important steps had been taken in the Mediterranean to improve the co-operation between the British Naval and Air Forces. A new organisation had to be set. up for this purpose, he said. If the Allies could retake Cyrenaica the large British air force in "he Mediterranean would be able to operate far from the mainland and this, backed by surface and submarine craft, should prevent Axis supplies reaching Africa.
