l, GOLF CLUB FAREWELL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The official match set down for Saturday by the Featherston Golf Club was cancelled out of respect to the memory of the late Mrs Saxton, moth-er-in-law of Mr H. R. Bloxam, one of the club’s prominent officials. Occasion was, however, taken to farewell Mr K. H. Allen, who has been transferrtd to Bulls. Mr J. W. Card (president) referred to the long association of Mr Allen with the club both as an official and player, and on behalf of the members, he made him a presentation of a useful article to remind him at all times of the friends he was leaving behind. Mr Allen thanked the members for their gift and the president for the kind thoughts expressed. He said that he hoped that opportunity would be afforded him on a future occasion to meet them all again. Service Club Euchre Party. There was a very good attendance at the Service Club euchre party held on Tuesday night. Mirs Lawson and Mrs McGarrie tied for the first prize at cards. Mrs Thurston was the competition winner. Personal. Mrs K. B. McClellan, of Rotorua, is the guest of Mrs R. Charles. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital yesterday of a well-known resident of the district in the person of Mr Charles William Houghtoq, of Western Lake Road, at the age of 70 years. In connection with the “Lucky • Charm” Art Union, a £5 prize was won by Molly and John Barry (Featherston) . COSY THEATRE “DUMBO.” The best Walt Disney feature yet brought to the screen is “Dumbo,” and this brilliant picture will be shown tonight in all the glory of technicolour. It is a thrilling and novel story.
