■ BOY SCOUTS MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the local Boy Scouts Committee, Mr A. B. Fordyce presided, there being also present: Mesdames W. Olsen, R. Gallagher, R. Farrow, Messrs A. Golder, H. Higginson, A. H. Gray, J. M. Tolley, Scoutmaster Trim and Cubmaster H. Smith. Scoutmaster Trim reported that owing to the earthquake, influenza and bad weather, the attendances at Scout parades were not as good as at normal times. Mr Cooksley, Training Commissioner, had been on a visit to the troop and some very valuable instruction had been received. He thanked the members who had assisted him on parade nights. The bottle drive had proved a great success but had only been half completed. After the earthquake the Scouts had rendered valu- : able assistance in transferring the library books from the Municipal Buildings to a place of safety and in dusting and cleaning them ready to be put back on the library shelves. Cubmaster Smith re-ported that the Cubs were in recess but would resume their gatherings as soon as the evenings became lighter. It was decided that the annual meeting be held in October. A sub-committee was appointed to go into the matter of repairing the Den building.
