Mr Thomas Dewey, former district attorney for New. York City, was nominated for the Governorship of New York State at a Republican convention, a cablegram reports. The convention also adopted a war platform embodying the principles advocated by Mr Wendell Willkie, which call for a fight to a finish against Hitlerism, and a broad programme of post-war world co-operation.
