ATTACKED BY BRITISH AIRCRAFT TWO LARGE VESSELS HIT. E-BOAT SET ON FIRE. LONDON, August 26. During the night British planes kept up their offensive against enemy shipping. An enemy convoy was attacked off the Frisian Islands. Hits were scored on two of the largest ships. A bomber attacked seven E-boats off the French coast and set one on fire. A German bomber was destroyed off the south coast of England this morning. There were some casualties in a south-coast town when bombs destroyed a number of small.houses. Agency messages state that early this morning an air battle was fought over a south-east coast town. No bombs were dropped.
