meeting of committee. DONATIONS ACKNOWLEDGED. At the monthly meeting o£ the Air Force Relations Committee the following r were present: Mesdames Lord (m the chair), S Gill, R. Ayling, H. Rishworth and Miss Patrick. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Betts, Sellar, Nathan, Harcombe and Miss Carey The Masterton brancn, which was staitc.d in March, 1940, has forwarded since that time 5161 tins of food suitable for sending overseas. Supporters have also knitted and donated 696 pullovers, 354 balaclavas, 215 pairs gloves, 223 pairs mittens, 38 pairs socks, 78 scarves, 20 cranwcll jerseys. Owing to the coupon system gifts are becoming rare, but all gifts now go to the local R.N.Z.A.F. sta tion. Mittens of home-spun wool are much appreciated. • .. Despite the shortage of tinned food the committee packed 146 tins suitable for sending overseas. A large box of wollen garments was also packed. Bales of these garments aufe sent to Canada and to England, for the New Zealand airmen who apply for them there. On the first and third Tuesday afternoons in every month the committee work in the patriotic rooms (in the Women’s Rest Rooms in Dixon Stret). Those interested in Ihe work are invited to call on these days. The committee wish to thank the following helpers and donors of tinned food: Mesdames R. Ayling. Anderson, Braggings. J. A. Parcels of comforts, knitted garments or. tinned food may be sent to any member of the committee or left at the offices of Messrs Dunderdale and Gray. Perry Street. The parcels will be packed and forwarded to Wellington on the 20th of every month.
