Miss M. Sellar, who had been visiting Masterton, has returned to Paraparaumu Beach. Miss I. Tankersley, Johnston Street. Masterton, is spending a holiday in Nelson.
Miss J. Johnston, Wellington, is the guest of Miss McKenzie, Renall Street, Masterton.
Mrs F. R. Bodie is staying with her mother, Mrs G. W. Sellar, Colombo Road, Masterton.
The Hon. W. A. Bodkin, Minister of Civil Defence, returned to Wellington today from Auckland. Mr and Mrs R. Y. Boyes, Dixon Street, Mastertcn, have received cabled advice that their son, Driver P. R. Boyes, Middle East forces, is safe and well.
At last night’s meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, Councillor A. D. Low was nominated as the council’s representative on the Rehabilitation Committee to be set up locally. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, was nominated as deputy.
Miss M. Mules, Woodville, who has been nurse -in-charge of the Dannevirke dental clinic for the past four years, has left on transfer to Wanganui. Miss A. Hiha, at present attached to the staff, will succeed Miss Mules, and will be assisted by Nurse B. V. E. Gwyer, formerly of Wellington.
