News from Poland some time ago records that the Nazi authorities in Warsaw were embarrassed for several days by finding many lamp posts painted during the night with the words “Nur fur Deutsche” (for Germans only)—a legend which the Germans display outside the best restaurants, hotels, gardens, and the like where Poles and Jews are not allowed. It may be recalled that some time ago a number of “Nur fur Deutsche” notices were secretly removed from their customary places and displayed at the entrances to Warsaw’s cemeteries.
