GOOD MEN’S GAMES

PLAYED AT LANSDOWNE ON SATURDAY.

e Three good men’s games were played at [1 Lansdowne on Saturday. Weather conditions were not very favourable but the grounds S were in perfect condition. 11 No. 8 team (Wairarapa College) defeated d No. 2 team in a very fast game. Each team was without its goalkeeper. No 2 team also had some of their best players away. Never- - theless if both teams had been at full y strength the game would still have been fast and even. Wairarapa College were slightly the better team on the day and - deserved their win. y Nos. 3 and 7 teams won their fixtures by . default but played each other in a friendly game which produced good hockey. No. i ,t team was comprised of almost all new play- _ ers recently arrived in the district, some of whom are experienced players. e No. 6 and 5 teams played a good, fast - and hard game.
