OBITUARY

MR THOMAS ASHWELL ROOT. The death occurred this morning of Mr Thomas Ashwell Root, of 103 Colombo Road, Masterton. He had been in indifferent health for the past five years. The late Mr Root, who was born in Essex, England, 53 years ago, came to New Zealand in 1918. He saw considerable service with the Imperial Forces and took part in the last war. At one time he was employed by the Masterton County Council. He is survived by a widow and three young sons.

The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving the chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service, Ltd., following a service at 2 p.m., for the Masterton Soldiers’ Cemetery?
