ERGOT CAMPAIGN
COLLECTION IN DOP/IINION. NEARLY A TON OBTAINED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Barclay, announced last night that during the past ergot campaign, almost one ton of ergot had been collected, and small quantities were still coming to hand. He said that he was anxious to have all the available ergot forwarded to the United Kingdom as soon as possible, and it was therefore desired that all supplies should be in the hands of merchants before the end of this month. Merchants should not accept further quantities of ergot after August 31. Though the season had not been very favourable, the Minister considered that the campaign had been a success.
