POWER BOARD
BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING GRANT TO SERVICES CLUB AND Y.M.C.A. NO MORE ELECTRIC RANGES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Campbell Pearce presided over the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, held at Carterton today. There were also present Messrs C. Holmes, N. C. C. Shepherd, W. A. Tate, G. W. Hart, J. H. Colquhoun, F. C. Daniell end H. P. Hugo. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. Howard Booth. It was decided to build a bach at Kourarau for the accommodation of a relieving employee. Applications were received from the Y.M.C.A., Masterton, and the Featherston Services Club for a reduction in the scale of charges.' It was resolved that a grant of £5 be given to the Featherston Services Club and £l5 to the Y.M.C.A., the position to be reviewed again in three months’ time. Hire purchase agreements were considered and agreed to. The secretarymanager, Mr G. Brown, reported that the stock of ranges was exhausted and no more would be available. Mr Brown reported that the pipeline had been sprung in places by the heavy earthquake experienced recently and that damage to the surge tower had not yet been attended to.
